I don't have many friends--never have--and when one passes,
it takes a toll on who I am, like a piece ripped out by the lion of
time who ravages our souls. Nathan J. Nylander was a friend, and during
the time I spent with him in Arizona in the late 1990's and again in
Hawaii after he became an officer, I felt better about myself.
That's what friends do.
